Epicharis (Epicharis) pygialis (Friese, 1900)

Centris (Epicharis) rustica pygialis Friese, H. (1900). Monographie der Bienengattung Centris (s. lat.). Ann. K-K. Naturhist. Mus. Wien 15 (3-4): 237-350 [254] (Name proposed originally as Centris (Epicharis) rustica var. pygialis) .
Type data: lectotype ZMB <M> (Moure (1996:943) argues that the specimen at ZMB should be considered holotype. In any case, according to ICZN Art. 74.5, his action can be considered a valid lectotype designation).
Subsequent designation: Moure, J. S. (1996). Reestudo de alguns tipos de abelhas neotropicais descritos por Friese e conservados no Museu de Berlim (Apoidea, Colletidae, Anthophoridae). Rev. Bras. Zool. 12 (4): 939-952 [943] .
Type locality: 'Bahia, Montevideo' [one of the lectotype's label has 'Montevideo oder Bahia' and since the species has not been found in Uruguay, the type material probably came from Bahia, in Brazil].

Centris (Epicharis) conica nigra Ducke, A. (1902). Beobachtungen über Blütenbesuch, Erscheinungszeit etc. der bei Pará vorkommenden Bienen. Allg. Z. Entomol. 7: 360-368 [363] (nom. nud.) .

Type data: holotype DZUP <M>.
Type locality: Brazil, Amazonas, Rio Parauari.
