Melissa andina viridescens Friese, H. (1930). Corrigenda zu 'Neue neotropische Bienenarten' in : Stettin. Ent. Zeitg., v 86, 1925. Stett. Entomol. Ztg. 91: 127 [127] (Friese (1925:31) proposed this name as a variety of Melissa andina, but it was omitted from the publication. The name was then published in 1930 in a corrigenda to the 1925 paper) .
Type data: holotype ZMB <M>.
Type locality: Ecuador, Guayas, Guayaquil.

Neotropical Region: Chile (Antofagasta, Santiago), Ecuador (Guayas), Peru (Apurímac, Tacna)
