Euglossa dimidiata tenuifasciata
Friese, H. (1925). Neue neotropische Bienenarten, zugleich II. Nachtrag zur Bienenfauna von Costa Rica. (Hym.). Stett. Entomol. Ztg. 86 (2): 1-41 [30] (The recognition of the type specimen of tenuifasciata has had a troubled history and needs further investigation. Moure (1967:412) considered a female, from Tarata, Bolivia, deposited at the AMNH collection as the holotype, a position followed by Kimsey & Dressler (1986:234). However, Moure (2003:43) argued that the true holotype is in the ZMB collection. Nemésio & Rasmussen (2011:32) consider the type material as composed of syntypes, a position not followed here (G. A. R. Melo, unpubl.)) .
Type data: holotype ZMB <F>.
Type locality: 'Amazonas-Gebiet'.
Distribution
Neotropical Region: Bolivia, Brazil (Acre, Amapá, Amazonas, Maranhão, Mato Grosso, Pará, Rondônia)
