Eufriesea eburneocincta (Kimsey, 1977)
Euplusia eburneocincta
Kimsey, L. S. (1977). New species of bees in the genera Euplusia and Eufriesia (Hymenoptera: Apidae, Euglossini). Pan-Pac. Entomol. 53: 8-18 [12] .
Type data: holotype whereabouts unknown <M>.
Type locality: Guyana, Dawa.
Remarks
Material available at the DZUP suggests that Eufriesea eburneocincta is only a color variant of E. vidua. These two forms are structurally identical, differing only in the color pattern of the pubescence of the 2nd tergum. Also, males exhibiting distinct intermediate patterns have been observed in a large series from Rondônia, in Brazil. A formal synonymy between these two names will be published elsewhere (G. A. R. Melo, unpubl.).
Distribution
Neotropical Region: Brazil (Maranhão [Buriticupu]), Guyana, Venezuela (Bolívar)
