Type locality: Muzo, Boyaca, Colombia, 900 mts., 1936, J. Bequaert.

Remarks

According to Roubik, 1992: 507 Trigona muzoensis Schwarz is junior synonym of Trigona ferricauda Cockerell, later, however, he considered it as a valid species (Roubik, 1995: 200)
