Type locality: Lago Caetano, rio Trombetas, Pará, Brasil, 10.III.1998, F. A. J. Peralta.
Etymology: from the Latin, spinosus, with thick setae on the pronotal lobes, tegulae and mesepisterna.
Distribution
Neotropical Region: Brazil (Pará [Oriximiná]), Guyana (Barima-Waini), Trinidad and Tobago
