Remarks
The name rugicollis has been applied under distinct scopes by different authors. Moure (1949:438) gave it a broad scope, encompassing populations from Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay. Study of the type material of C. argentinus and C. rugicollis (G. Melo, unpubl. data) revealed that they are distinct species, as already put forward by Ferrari & Silveira (2015:270). However, contrary to these authors and to Ferrari (2019), I consider that these two taxa do not occur in Brazil. The Brazilian fauna contains a species complex that requires further taxonomic work. Until a new revisionary work becomes available, the name rugicollis will continue to be used here under a broad scope (G.A.R. Melo, unpubl.).
