Megachile melanotricha
Spinola, M. (1851). Himenopteros pp. 153-569 in Gay, C. (ed.) Historia Fisica y Politica de Chile. Zoologia Vol. 6. Paris: Casa del autor 572 pp. [179] (Spelled originally as melatronicha. Reed (1892) and Dalla Torre (1896) amended it to melanotricha. This emendation has been adopted by subsequent authors and can be considered in prevailing usage, therefore, making it a justified emendation according to ICZN Art. 33.2.3.1 (see also Durante et al. 2006:798)) .
Type data: syntype MSNT <F><M>.
Type locality: Chile, 'norte de la República, Santa Rosa, etc.'.
