Type locality: Peru, Arequipa.

Remarks

This taxon was placed as a synonym of Anthidium funereum by Gonzalez & Griswold (2013: 302). Judging from the work of Urban (2002: 508) and from the DZUP material, the involved taxa, including A. garleppi, seem to form a species complex. Further investigation is necessary to elucidate the status of the involved names.
